I always get excited when I see the first signs of sprouts. This year was no different. This morning when I checked on the seeds, about half of the kale, most of the cucumbers and all of the lettuce had sprouted. I think the tomatoes will start up soon, but that wait for the eggplant and peppers is always excruciating. Last year, I started the seeds in the unheated attic by a south facing window. This year’s more compact trays have found a home in the kitchen. I will soon have to figure out a good lighting system for them. Stay tuned.
