Blueberries actually do quite well in pots – I’m planting these two in pots about twice as large as the current nursery pots. They require a lot of acid, which makes them tough to plant around in beds – few other plants can tolerate such acidic conditions.  I mixed in 1.25 cups of Espoma Organic Soil Acidifier to lower the ph of the soil, and doubled the amount of peat moss in my usual planting mix. Hopefully, these two bushes will grow to fill out these pots, and give us a couple pints of berries later this summer.
